Dr. Michael Samuels is the co-founder of NC Eye Associates and is the lead optometrist at our Apex, NC eye care center. In addition to providing comprehensive eye exams and fitting contact lenses, Dr. Samuels specializes in the diagnosis and advanced treatment of dry eye disease as well as the management of many other ocular diseases.Dr. Samuels is a graduate of North Carolina State University and the Illinois College of Optometry. Before attending optometry school, Dr. Samuels spent a year as an Americorps volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Jackson, WY. He is a native of North Carolina and grew up around eye care, as his father, Dr. Stuart Samuels, was a practicing optometrist for over 39 years before retiring in 2016.
Dr. Samuels is a dedicated father and husband to his sons, Bo and Jack, and wife, Molly. When he isn’t seeing patients, he likes to play golf, explore new restaurants, and travel with his family.
